I didn't see anything wrong with this. I saw this cool video clip on this site, so I showed it to my friends on MX. It's not like you guys made the clip. [img]wink.gif[/img]

Also, I made the thread about a play along recording thing after the thread on here, I believe. I just thought it would be a good idea to help MX get a little more fun. I downloaded some tracks from my friend Josiah, and was wondering if anyone had anymore, since I lost my "Contemporary Drummer +1" tape.

I really see nothing wrong with this. You've seen the people from MX. Do you really want them knowing about a more civilized forum like this, so we can get a bunch of crazed noobs in here? [img]eek.gif[/img]

Who are we to tell him where to post videos that are open to the public anyway? I clearly see your point rudy, but let them have their fun. Its not like there's much going on there anyway, the first poster simply posted a link with no comment after it - I prefer the environment here where theres some decent discussion. You see where I'm getting at.

To be honest dazz, that was my first thought and it annoyed me too that your folder had become vulnerable to inspection. Would have been best for cameron to save the file and upload to his own ftp.

Also, ripping Weckl's Play-along's is in bad taste AW, IMO. Because, quite honestly, it takes well-earned $ out of his pocket, when it's solely his property to begin with. [img]graemlins/hmmm.gif[/img]

If you want Weckl's "PA" tunes, just go out & buy the package, or put it on your BDay/Cmas wish list. Don't be a cheap-a**. They, Weckl, & your own learning curve are worth it. And it's quite cheaper than lessons with the man himself, so that in itself makes it a good deal, & worth it. If one hasn't a job in order to get it, then wait until you do have one & earn it.

It's a ? of ethics, something the newer, spoiled generation is in bad need to learn. Just because something can be obtain freely via bootleg rip [via technology] doesn't mean that it SHOULD. Excercise personal restraint, ethics, & dignity. But then, many don't even know what that is today, if it can be obtained for "free." Lack of biz ethics. Pure & simple. One certainly wouldn't like it if it was their livelyhood at stake. JMHO

& a good idea would be to obtain permission from someone to use their link. This should always be sought. Ask permission first.

Sorry if it might sound as if I'm ripping on anyone, as it's not necessarily the intention, but just a thought to consider.

Try to have some respect for members advice here cameron please and don't be a smartass. What fuse and dazzler said makes a lot of sense. This is not MX, this is a real drum forum.
